Both sides of the aisle can unanimously agree: dating in DC is rough.
Recent stats show DC has the highest percentage of never married men and women in the country. We launched a hashtag on Instagram called #DCdatingchronicles and a Story series called “The Best & Worst of DC dating profiles” (featuring over 600 stories!) to commiserate with the single folks in the District.
In 2018, we asked our followers if they would be interested in a matchmaking service and received interest… and so many of our followers have been asking us to do this. While it would be our dream to facilitate a love match through our page and may have something fun in the works (DC Bachelor/ette, anyone?), here are some other resources we recommend for our single friends in DC looking to find a connection.
Dating From Home (DFH) is a virtual space for people looking to make connections in a fun, low pressure environment. No swiping or profile required.
How it works: You’ll go on a series of 3-minute video dates over the course of an hour to test chemistry instantly. Events are hosted by Sam and his puppy Ollie – your virtual wingmen – who help break the ice.
Our followers get 30% off with code “OVERHEARD”

WashProbs DC Dates During Corona: One of DC’s beloved Instagram accounts thought of a new way to feature and connect singles in DC… virtually.
How it works: Submit a form about yourself (name, age, location, occupation, IG handle, recent photo, and short description) and WashProbs creates a custom dating card. The card will be featured on the @WashingtonianProbs Instagram stories so followers can DM the profile tagged if they’re interested. The series is featured every other Saturday featuring 5-10 profiles.

Pitch a Friend is a like Shark Tank, but for your single friends. A little cute, a little cringey and 100% hilarious. It brings laughs, good vibes and maybe a potential new partner.
How it works: People apply to pitch their friends, we select the top applicants who then prepare a three minute PowerPoint to present to the crowd. Each pitch is followed by a two minute Q&A from the audience. During quarantine, pitches happen over Zoom.
