SUPPORT LOCAL
One of our missions is to highlight local businesses and encourage our followers to shop small. COVID-19 hit our small businesses and restaurants hard. We saw some of our favorite local establishments forced to close and businesses struggling to make ends meet — especially through the winter.
We asked our community what the biggest challenges facing the restaurant industry were, and asked which days were the slowest. From this response, we launched a campaign called “On Wednesdays We Support Local” under a bigger initiative called #SupportLocalShopDC to help support small, local businesses in DC. Every Wednesday, we encourage our community to join us in supporting local businesses.

Building community and connecting with others in a big, transient city can be tough — especially during a pandemic. Whether you’re looking to find new friends, looking for love, or exploring career opportunities, we want to help Washingtonians connect with each other in a meaningful way.

There is no shortage of opportunities to give back to our community. As COVID-19 continues to affect communities in DC, we encourage you to support grassroots, local organizations working in our communities through donations or by volunteering your time (in-person or virtually).
