One of our missions is to highlight local businesses and encourage our followers to shop small.
COVID-19 hit our small businesses and restaurants hard. We saw some of our favorite local establishments forced to close and businesses struggling to make ends meet – especially through the winter.
We asked our community what the biggest challenges facing the restaurant industry were, and asked which days were the slowest. From this response, we launched a campaign called “On Wednesdays We Support Local” under a bigger initiative called #SupportLocalShopDC to help support small, local businesses in DC. Every Wednesday, we encourage our community to join us in supporting local businesses.
